SAPROF-CV Training
The Structured Assessment of Protective Factors – Child Version (SAPROF-CV) is an SPJ
assessment tool specially designed for the structured assessment of protective factors for
serious problem behavior in children. The tool has been developed to be used in addition
to child risk assessment tools, such as the EARL-V3, that focus primarily on risk factors.
The adult and juvenile versions of the tool, the SAPROF (de Vogel et al., 2012) and SAPROF-YV (De Vries Robbé et al., 2015) have successfully been implemented in forensic and social care settings in many countries around the world. The child version of the SAPROF has been developed in collaboration between the lead authors of the SAPROF-YV and CDI as an entirely new tool, based on extensive literature review of protective factors specifically for the prevention of serious problem behavior in children (6-15 years).
A wide range of empirical studies show the potential additional value of protective factors for a more balanced and increasingly accurate risk assessment and for offering additional guidance to the treatment of individuals with serious problem behaviours.
Please visit the SAPROF International homepage for more information regarding the adult and juvenile version of the tool.
